This month, The Sheffield 1000 are proud to donate £1000 to Heeley City Farm, a much-loved Sheffield charity that has been connecting people with nature, animals and sustainable living since 1981.

More than just an urban farm, Heeley City Farm is a place where people of all ages can learn, grow and feel part of their community. Every week they deliver over 40 activity sessions, supporting adults with learning disabilities to build confidence, develop life skills and form lasting friendships.

The farm also inspires the next generation through educational visits, with around 300 children each year taking part in workshops exploring composting, food growing and animal care. These hands-on experiences help children develop a greater understanding of the natural world and the importance of caring for it.

Our donation will support the farm’s wide-ranging community work, including adult supported placements, dementia support, training, employability programmes, alternative provision, community festivals and events. Every project is rooted in the farm’s commitment to creating opportunities, improving wellbeing and bringing people together.
We’re delighted to support an organisation that has been making such a positive impact across Sheffield for more than four decades.
