This month, The Sheffield 1000 are proud to donate £1000 to ASSIST Sheffield, an organisation supporting people seeking sanctuary who have been refused asylum and left destitute.

Many of the people ASSIST supports have fled war, violence and persecution, only to find themselves without access to housing, benefits or employment while living in Sheffield. Their work provides a vital lifeline for some of the city’s most marginalised people.

ASSIST offers accommodation, advocacy, information and access to essential services, helping people rebuild dignity, wellbeing and connection during incredibly difficult circumstances.

Our donation will help fund essential cash payments, bus passes and advocacy support, enabling people seeking asylum to access services, build community links and improve their wellbeing.

We’re proud to support an organisation providing compassion, solidarity and practical support to people who need it most.
