Another donation has been made to the fabulous Transport 17!

In the heart of South West Sheffield, Transport 17 is making roads by providing essential group transport services to older and vulnerable residents. This initiative is crucial for those who would otherwise be confined to their homes, offering them a lifeline to the outside world.

Transport 17’s efforts are more than just about mobility. They are fostering social interaction, reducing isolation, and significantly enhancing the mental health and overall quality of life for these individuals. It’s a beacon of hope, proving that community support can make a world of difference.

Fiona Smith, the Operations Manager at Transport 17 Ltd, shares the impact of their work:

“The funds will help us to continue to make a huge difference to some of those older and more vulnerable people who would otherwise be unable to get out. We will use the money either to replace the wheelchairs on our three minibuses or to train new volunteer drivers. We are in the process of recruiting two new drivers at the moment.”
