This month, The Sheffield 1000 are proud to donate £1000 to Mums In Need (MIN), a vital organisation supporting mothers experiencing ongoing coercive control after separation from an abusive partner.Mums In Need works to raise awareness of the often hidden and misunderstood realities of domestic abuse, particularly the emotional and psychological impact of coercive control. While physical violence is more visible, many survivors continue to face ongoing abuse long after leaving a relationship — often through complex situations involving shared parenting.

Their work highlights that leaving an abusive relationship is not the end of the journey. For many mothers, it marks the beginning of a new and challenging chapter, where support can be difficult to find and experiences are often misunderstood.

Mums In Need provides a safe, understanding space where women can access guidance, support and connection — helping them navigate the lasting effects of abuse and rebuild their lives with confidence.
Our donation will go towards counselling support, enabling more mothers to access the professional care and emotional support they need during this incredibly challenging time.
