For Day Six of our Christmas Giveaways, The Sheffield 1000 is proud to support a Sheffield-based organisation that champions creativity, culture, and diverse voices.

We are delighted to donate £1,000 to Utopia Theatre, a leading voice for African theatre in Sheffield and beyond. Through their Creative Hub, Utopia Theatre produces world-class African theatre for British and international stages, creating original work and re-imagining classic plays in ways that highlight their contemporary relevance and appeal to both new audiences and regular theatre-goers.

Utopia Theatre’s work extends far beyond the stage. Our Christmas donation will help support their programme of theatrical activities, including creative workshops, artist development initiatives, and events focused on theatre production across diverse communities. These activities provide opportunities for learning, collaboration, and creative expression, helping to nurture talent and strengthen cultural connections across the city.
