Stephen Harrison Academy
27 March 2026
This month, The Sheffield 1000 are proud to donate £1000 to The Stephen Harrison Academy, an organisation using sport to inspire, support and empower people across Sheffield.
Since 2007, the Academy has provided snooker coaching for children and adults with physical and learning disabilities, alongside a wide range of programmes designed to support personal development. Using snooker as a fun and engaging starting point, they offer opportunities in mentoring, nutrition, and even pathways into employment for people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Their work supports a diverse range of individuals, including young people not in education or employment, people with mental health challenges, and those with physical or learning disabilities — helping them build confidence, improve wellbeing, and lead more fulfilling lives.
Our donation will support their upcoming Festival of Snooker, taking place in April and May at the Academy, alongside the excitement of the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre. The festival will also host the first ever Cue10 Para Snooker Championship, marking an exciting and inclusive milestone for the sport.
We’re proud to support an organisation that is opening doors, breaking down barriers, and creating opportunities through sport in our city.
