Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC)
18 December 2025
As the festive season begins, The Sheffield 1000 is delighted to launch Day One of our Christmas Giveaways by supporting a local charity that makes a real difference to lives across our city.
We are proud to donate £1,000 to Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care (SCCCC), a Sheffield-based charity that works closely with statutory agencies to provide a vital network of support for older people, their carers, and families.
Much of SCCCC’s work focuses on helping older residents remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes — something that can be especially important during the winter months. They also offer support at key moments, including hospital admission or discharge, and for those living in residential care.
Our Christmas donation will help support older, isolated, and vulnerable people throughout Sheffield. This may include transporting someone safely home after a hospital stay, arranging a befriending volunteer to provide companionship through home visits, or offering personal and timely support when it’s needed most.
For many people, Christmas can be a lonely time, particularly for older residents who may feel isolated or vulnerable. Charities like SCCCC help ensure that no one is left without support, kindness, or connection, especially during the festive period.
We’re proud to begin our Christmas Giveaways by supporting the incredible work of Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care, and we look forward to sharing more organisations we’ll be supporting over the coming days.
