High Storrs Scouts

22 December 2025

For Day Five of our Christmas Giveaways, The Sheffield 1000 is proud to support an opportunity that will broaden horizons, build confidence, and create lifelong memories for young people from Sheffield.

We are delighted to donate £1,000 to support four students from High Storrs School, who have been selected as part of a Scout delegation representing South Yorkshire at the World Scout Jamboree in Gdańsk, Poland, in 2027.

The World Scout Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that takes place every four years, bringing together tens of thousands of Scouts aged 14–18 from across the globe. The event is designed to encourage cultural understanding, peace, and friendship, while giving young people the chance to try new activities, learn about different cultures, and discover what they are capable of in a fun and adventurous setting.

Funds raised by the Scouts will help cover travel, training, and participation costs. Importantly, fundraising also plays a key role in the Jamboree experience itself, teaching teamwork, commitment, and responsibility. In addition, the money raised helps support young people from less advantaged countries, enabling them to take part in this truly global event.

We’re proud to support these students as part of their fundraising journey and to help them represent Sheffield and South Yorkshire on the world stage.
