The Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind and Rotherham Sight & Sound – Making a difference in the Sheffield and Rotherham area.
About SRSB
SRSB and RSS provide opportunity, support, friendship and services to people with sight and/or hearing loss in the Sheffield and Rotherham area, helping them to achieve whatever they wish to do and whatever they aspire to be.
SRSB and RSS have a wide range of services to meet the needs of children and adults of all ages.
Our services improve our clients’ quality of life.
We deliver these services primarily in the community, supported by the facilities at our Mappin Street Centre in Sheffield, our Ship Hill Centre in Rotherham and Cairn Home in Sheffield.
We support over 4,600 visually impaired impaired people in Sheffield and over 2,500 visually impaired and /or hearing impaired people in Rotherham. Our residential care home, Cairn Home cares for up to 30 people. In addition we are able to offer some support for people from outside Sheffield City Region if you are able to visit us at our Mappin Street Centre or our Ship Hill Centre.
We have a varied programme of Fundraising Events each year with something to suit everyone.
Whilst we are an independent charity in Sheffield we also work closely with government departments, local authorities, national charities, local charities and support groups to enable blind and partially sighted people in Sheffield and Rotherham area to receive the most suitable support in an efficient manner.
“I think the service you offer to us is out of this world, it’s so nice and reassuring to know you are there for us if we need any help or advice.”
