- [Steve Manley](https://thesheffield1000.org/team/steve-manley/) - An experienced fundraiser, Steve was Born in Sheffield and is passionate about our wonderful city. Steve is the joint Managing Director of Universal Office Products - a company formed in Sheffield back in 2002. He is closely involved with various charity initiatives and is an active member of the regional Young Enterprise board. Whilst the youngest ever Sheffield Chamber of Commerce President in 2018/19, Steve designed and opened the Sheffield Chamber Business & Enterprise academy at Sheffield College, which was created to inspire, identify hidden talent and provide real life experiences to local students.

She works with both corporate clients and private individuals, supporting them in achieving their business goals across a range of commercial legal disciplines. Sarah mainly works in business sales and acquisitions, but also advises on other commercial agreements including supply agreements, service agreements, distribution agreements and intellectual property agreements.
- [Yuri Matischen](https://thesheffield1000.org/team/yuri-matischen/) - Yuri is the Managing Director of the Sheffield based major sports events company, MLS Contracts Ltd., Chairman of the BBraun Sheffield Sharks basketball franchise, and Director of Park Community Arena Ltd, which operates the newly built multi-purpose Canon Medical Arena on Sheffield’s Olympic Legacy Park. The arena is the permanent home of the Sheffield Sharks and Hatters basketball franchises, among other sports clubs and is the new home of MLS.

- [Koen Lamberts](https://thesheffield1000.org/team/koen-lamberts/) - Koen Lamberts is the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sheffield and a Board member of the Russell Group. Professor Lamberts is a cognitive psychologist with an extensive track record in experimental and theoretical research on human perception and memory. Prior to Sheffield, he held leadership positions at the universities of York and Warwick.
- [David Grey](https://thesheffield1000.org/team/david-grey/) - At the age of 17 David formed a mobile disco business and then later supplemented that by working as a DJ in Sheffield nightclubs. He set up his first limited company at the age of 23 with a £1,000 loan from his mother and a similar loan from Barclays Bank. He has built up his business, by acquisition and organic growth, to a group of manufacturing companies exporting to over 100 countries. He has been a council member of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a Director of Business Link and Chairman of the Business Community Partnership. He was a board member of the Sheffield First Partnership and Chairman of Sheffield First for Investment. David has also served as a governor of Mansell School, a primary school in a deprived area of the city. He was asked to join the governing body after the school failed its Ofsted inspection. The school was successfully inspected some 16 months later and passed out of special measures. In 2006, he led a bid to win a £26million grant from central government to encourage entrepreneurship in Sheffield and served as Chairman of the Local Economy Board tasked with delivering the programme. He has Chaired the Big Challenge, an entrepreneur programme delivered across all Sheffield secondary schools for the last ten years. He was awarded an MBE in 2010 for his services to industry and regeneration in Sheffield. He has served for 5 years on the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership Board with specific responsibility for inward investment and business growth. In 2013 he led a bid for £32 millions of RGF funding, on behalf of the Sheffield City Region which led onto a further £50 millions of investment funding and he chaired the Board overseeing the investment programme. He was installed as Master Cutler for the year 2014-15 and is currently the Chairman of Sheffield City Trust as well as being Chairman of Cavendish Cancer Care. He is also a Non Exec Director for a number of manufacturing businesses. He counts skiing, scuba diving, football, motor racing and sailing as hobbies. He has a private pilot's licence and a Piper Saratoga aircraft based at Gamston Airport

She is a Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, trustee of Utopia Theatre and also a Guardian and Executive of the Sheffield Assay Office. - [Melinda Schofield](https://thesheffield1000.org/team/melinda-schofield/) - Born in Sheffield, Melinda is the Regional Sales Director for Bauer Yorkshire which includes brands such as Hallam FM, Pulse and Greatest Hits Radio. With over 20 years of experience in Media having started out at Sheffield Newspapers and having spent time at Sheffield International Venues, Melinda has a wealth of experience and knowledge in both Private and Public Sector organisations at a senior level. Melinda is a member of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Council and is also a Board Member of the Cash for Kids Charity.
- [Arnie Singh](https://thesheffield1000.org/team/arnie-singh/) - Born and bred in Sheffield, Arnie is the Managing Director of City Taxis - the largest UK private hire taxi firm outside of London. Previously a music teacher, his creativity has spurred the company’s most innovative ideas - like their City Grab service, City Electric initiative and City Charity Incubator project. Arnie is a member of the Mercia Learning Trust, a Vice-Chair of Sheffield Theatres, trustee of Sheffield Museums and is heavily involved with a number of initiatives and projects to improve the city he loves.
- [Dan Walker](https://thesheffield1000.org/team/dan-walker/) - Dan is a proud resident of Sheffield and a well-known TV presenter and journalist. He used to sit on the BBC Breakfast sofa but moved to Channel 5 in 2022 and is a much loved broadcaster and author. Dan has been a dedicated patron of The Children’s Hospital Charity since 2012 and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity with his annual star-studded golf days. In 2019 Dan helped to organise a fly-past in Sheffield to commemorate the 75th anniversary of a plane crash during WWII. Thousands of people attended the ceremony in Endcliffe Park and millions watched on live TV.
